La Mesa Village Farmers Market Is Back Oct. 9 With Fall Hours
Fresh produce, baked goods, local makers and live music, every Friday afternoon in downtown La Mesa. Here are the fall hours, where to park, and how to turn market day into dinner.
The La Mesa Village Farmers Market is back on Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, from 3pm to 7pm on La Mesa Blvd. between 4th St. and Palm Ave. It skipped Friday, Oct. 2, and now it’s on its fall and winter schedule, which closes up half an hour earlier than in summer.
Fall hours and dates
- When: every Friday, 3pm – 7pm from October through April (3pm – 7:30pm May through September)
- Where: La Mesa Blvd. between 4th St. and Palm Ave., in downtown La Mesa Village
- Weather: open rain or shine
- Closed: Nov. 27 and Dec. 25, 2026, and Jan. 1, 2027
Those closures all land on holiday Fridays (the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day), so all the other Fridays this fall are market days.
What you’ll find
The City of La Mesa lists 60+ vendors at the market: fresh produce, baked goods, meats, cheeses, local artisans and food vendors, plus live music. The La Mesa Village Association, which runs the market, describes it as a mix of farm-fresh produce, handcrafted goods and food stands with everything from savory entrees to sweet treats.
October is a fun time to go. The evenings start to cool down, fall produce shows up on the tables, and a Friday stroll down La Mesa Blvd. after work feels like the start of the weekend. Go early in the afternoon for the best pick, or come later and make it part of your evening plans.
Parking and getting there
There’s free parking at the Date Ave. Lot, on Allison Ave. and Date Ave. across from La Mesa City Hall and the La Mesa Police Department. Bring your own bags, or pick up a reusable one at the market’s Info Booth.
